Odyssey Freediving was founded in 2016 as a freedive education company and has evolved to offer spearfishing courses, guiding, and underwater equipment supply. Our ethos is rooted in principles ocean exploration, teamwork, and the unwavering commitment to educate future ocean advocates through the art of freediving. Through this practice we are creating a community of skilled and mindful freedivers for the next generation.

Our Mission

Our primary goal is to be of service. We strive to offer the best courses, training, and products to intrepid divers in both recreational and professional settings. With a strong focus on ocean conservation we are pushing the boundary for a new definition of what a company can be. Our movement towards better ocean advocacy starts with in-water engagement. Using cutting edge education we are able to introduce thousands of people to the underwater world on a single breath of air and inspire a new generation of watermen and women.

Guided Spearfishing

From Intro to Spearfishing to multi day offshore guiding, we specialize in preparing you for success

Intro to Spearfishing remains our most popular course, and we have helped many new divers along the path of shooting their first fish and becoming underwater hunters capable of sourcing their own seafood.

Beyond the Intro course we have trips and excursions such as lobster diving, bluewater hunting, and international trips.

Brandon is the founder of Odyssey Freediving. He is a freediving instructor, spearfishing guide, and underwater photographer based in Monterey Bay, California. After learning to dive and spearfish in Florida, he moved to the golden coast of California for the allure of big surf, cold water, and hunting kelp forests every day of the week. With over a decade of experience, Brandon has dedicated his life to sharing the underwater world with others.

He is a PFI, NAUI, and PADI certified freediving instructor known for his patient and supportive teaching style. He believes in empowering his students with the knowledge and skills they need to dive safely and confidently.

As a spearfisherman and patroller of his local coast, Brandon has a deep respect for ocean ecosystems. He teaches ethical spearfishing practices, emphasizing the importance of sustainable hunting, and conservation of marine life.
