Who We Are
Odyssey Freediving was founded in 2016 as a freedive education company and has evolved to offer freediving and spearfishing courses, guiding, and underwater equipment supply. Our ethos is rooted in principles ocean exploration, teamwork, and the unwavering commitment to educate future ocean advocates through the art of freediving. Through this practice we are creating a community of skilled and mindful freedivers for the next generation.
Our Mission
Our primary goal is to be of service. We strive to offer the best courses, training, and products to intrepid divers in both recreational and professional settings. With a strong focus on ocean conservation we are pushing the boundary for a new definition of what a company can be. Our movement towards better ocean advocacy starts with in-water engagement. Using cutting edge education we are able to introduce thousands of people to the underwater world on a single breath of air and inspire a new generation of watermen and women.

At Odyssey Freediving our core mission is to help educate a new generation of divers at all levels. To do so we’ve developed the Odyssey Freediver Course — a comprehensive, inclusive, and community-based program that goes far beyond the traditional approach to freediving education.
What Sets Odyssey Apart?
Most traditional freediving courses are structured around a weekend format with minimal follow-up. While these can be effective for some, they often leave students feeling rushed, underprepared, or unsupported—especially if they don’t pass on the first attempt.
Odyssey’s approach is different. We've created a training ecosystem and course structure that supports your growth both before, during, and after the official class dates, providing real chances for real progress. It gives you more options to train and cultivate a practice to get results.
The Odyssey Learning System™
The Odyssey Learning System™ is our unique curriculum and teaching model, rooted in learning psychology, sports science, and practice-based approach. It’s designed to make freediving accessible, effective, and transformative—regardless of your background or experience level.
Key components include:
- Pre-Course Learning Materials: You’ll receive curated resources and preparation guidance well before your course, helping you show up confident and informed.
- In-Person Academic Lectures: We believe that quality freediving education starts above the surface. Each course includes instructor-led theory sessions that go deeper than standard eLearning.
- Small Class Sizes: We cap every course to ensure personalized instruction, detailed feedback, and a team-centered atmosphere.
- Community Line Sessions: If you don’t meet the performance requirements during the main course weekend, we include two free community line sessions as part of your course so you can continue practicing and complete your certification—at no extra cost.

Intro to Spearfishing remains our most popular course, and we have helped many new divers along the path of shooting their first fish and becoming underwater hunters capable of sourcing their own seafood.
Beyond the Intro course we have trips and excursions such as lobster diving, bluewater hunting, and international trips.
